Advanced Veterinary Care Center in Davie is excited to now offer minimally invasive surgery! Arthroscopy, laparoscopy and thoracoscopy have become the gold standard of care for diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases. These techniques provide the surgeon with a magnified and illuminated view that can improve our ability to detect subtle abnormalities in our patients.
These minimally invasive techniques have been shown to significantly reduce: post-operative pain, infections, length of hospitalization and stress in veterinary patients. Currently, our services include:
Laparoscopy:
-Ovariectomy
-Ovariohysterectomy
-Gastropexy
-Cryptorchid testicle removal
-Laparoscopic biopsy (Hepatic, intestinal, pancreatic, lymphatic, cholecystocentesis)
Arthroscopy:
-Shoulder – Diagnosis and treatment of OCD
-Elbow – Diagnosis and treatment of components of elbow dysplasia, including fragmented medial coronoid process and humeral OCD
-Hip – Arthroscopic evaluation for osteoarthritis/degenerative joint disease -Knee – Diagnosis and treatment of cranial cruciate ligament disease and meniscal injury. Performed in combination with stabilization procedures for cranial cruciate ligament disease (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy).
Thoracoscopy:
-Pericardiectomy
-Evaluation and biopsy of thoracic organs and tumors
-Treatment of chylous effusion/chylothorax
