Advanced Veterinary Care Center (AVCC) in South Florida offers qualified 3rd and 4th year veterinary students a flexible 2-week externship in small animal specialty and emergency/critical care medicine.
- Choose from externships in internal medicine, surgery, oncology, or emergency/critical care or rotate through two of the clinical services (1 week each) based on individual interests.
- Participate in all aspects of patient care including daily rounds, triage, appointments, procedures, and hospitalized/intensive care.
- The goals of the program are to provide an immersive experience in a referral and emergency practice, as well as to identify qualified students for possible internship/fellowship opportunities.
HOW TO APPLY
Successful applicants will provide a letter of intent with emphasis on your specific interest(s) (e.g. internal medicine, surgery, etc.) and at least one letter of reference. Applications are accepted year-round.
